Sunnyside High School Transformation Project

The Sunnyside High School transformation project is estimated to break ground in the Summer of 2027 on the existing campus. This page will serve as the districts official communication channel, providing real-time updates on schedule, budget, and construction impacts for students, families, and the SUSD community.

PROJECT STATUS

October 2026
Current phase: Planning and discovery

The District has started working with the project architects and the construction management company to establish the planning and design process. A steering committee representing students, families, staff and the Sunnyside community has been formed and is actively meeting.

Your Tax Dollars At Work

Thanks to the support of Sunnyside Unified School District voters in November 2025, the District has begun planning the renovation and construction of the new Sunnyside High School.

This multiyear project will create learning environments that support the needs and aspirations of current and future generations of Sunnyside students. Planning will be guided by student learning, safety, community input, responsible stewardship of bond funds and the District’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan.
