The Benefits team administers employee benefit programs designed to support financial security and work-life balance. This includes health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, and other voluntary benefits. The team provides guidance to help employees understand their options and make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

The Health and Wellness division promotes a healthy workforce by supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through wellness initiatives, resources, and preventative programs, this team helps employees maintain balance, reduce stress, and build sustainable healthy habits that contribute to overall job satisfaction and productivity.

HR Specialists provide direct support to employees and supervisors on a wide range of employment matters. This includes recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, classification, and policy interpretation. The team ensures consistent application of HR practices while serving as a resource for guidance, problem-solving, and day-to-day personnel needs. Payroll Specialists

The Risk Management division works to protect employees, students, and the organization by identifying, reducing, and managing risk. This includes workers’ compensation, safety programs, claims coordination, and compliance with applicable regulations. The goal is to promote safe workplaces while minimizing operational and financial risk to the district.

altered by oral statements; only written amendments by authorized management officials will constitute changes to
statements made in this handbook.
This handbook summarizes policies and procedures for all Sunnyside Unified School District employees. The benefits
described are generally available only to eligible employees. Regular part-time employees may be eligible for certain
benefits (see “Benefits for Part-Time Employees”) Policies , procedures and benefits described in this handbook may be
improved, modified or terminated at any time at the discretion of the Governing Board.
The statements in this handbook do not create an express or implied contract between us for employment or for any benefit.
All employees of the school district are employees at will. Employees are free to resign at any time, and the company,
likewise, retains the right to terminate an employee’s employment at any time.
