Employee contract pay distributions are calculated in accordance with USFR guidance VI-H-1.4 for each
method of payment option

• Option 1-22 payments

First pay will be calculated using the number of days within the pay period times the employee’s daily
rate*. The remaining balance is divided by 21 to determine amount to be paid through the 22nd
installment.

• Option 2-22 payments but pro-rated over 26 pay periods, with the 22nd payment (the final

payment) being the remaining balance due under this Contract paid in a lump sum.

First pay will be calculated using the number of days within the pay period times the employee’s daily
rate*. The remaining balance is divided by 25 to determine amount to be paid for 20 equal installments
and a final 22nd installment to be paid in a lump sum (equivalent to 5 pays).

• Option 3-26 payments over 26 pay periods.

First pay will be calculated using the number of days within the pay period times the employee’s daily
rate*. The remaining balance is divided by 25 to determine amount to be paid in 25 installments
through the 26th installment.

*Daily rate = Contract amount divided by number of work days. (i.e. $47,000 divided by 211 work days =
$222.75 daily rate).

Please note that the number of pay periods vary depending on the employee’s contract start date.
Explanations provided are for employees that start at the beginning of the work calendar for the
position. Employees starting later in the year may have less number of installments.
