Welcome to the Sunnyside Human Resources Benefits Department!

The Sunnyside Benefits Department is constantly looking for more ways to better serve our Sunnyside Unified School District employees, prospective employees and community.  Please feel free to review the information contained on this site and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or suggestions on how to make this website work better for you.

Snapshot Information -

  • Upon hire, employees are eligible for insurance on the first of the month following 30 days after their initial hire date.
  • The District contributes up to $200.34 per pay period ($350.59 per month) for full-time benefit eligible employees (medical, dental and vision).
  • Our plan year runs from September 1st through August 31st.
  • Open Enrollment occurs in May and notification will be made through different communication outlets during April and May.
  • Medical Insurance Company for SY 2013-2014 and 2014-2017 = Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona
  • Dental Insurance Companies for SY 2013-2014 = Assurant (HMO) and Delta Dental (PPO)
  • Dental Insurance Companies for SY 2014-2016 = TDA (Prepaid) and Delta Dental (PPO)
  • Dental Insurance Companies for SY 2016-2017 = TDA (Prepaid) and MetLife (PPO)
  • Vision Insurance Companies for SY 2013-2017 = EyeMed Vision Insurance

HSA Information -

SUSD is continuing to offer the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) for the lowest premium cost.

You probably have questions such as:
