Districtwide COVID Cases

This dashboard was developed to provide the SUSD community with a transparent summary of COVID-19 cases by school.

A positive case indicates that a student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until the registered nurse verifies that the individual meets the return criteria set by state and local health authorities. Once the individual is cleared to return they are no longer considered an active case and their case is removed from the dashboard count.

Due to federal laws that protect the privacy of the individuals, we are unable to share any personal identifying information about who has tested positive.

When a positive case is reported to any SUSD school it must be reported to the Pima County Health Department. After the positive case has been reported to the county, the following takes place:

  • The school will notify every person that has been identified to have been in “close contact” with the positive individual. Close contact is defined as, “less than six feet, for more than 15 minutes within a 24 hour period”.
  • Any student deemed to have been in close contact with the positive individual is required to stay home for 14 days starting on the date they were tested. ONLY students determined to have had close contact will need to be quarantined.
  • All parents of the school will receive a notification letter.
  • After all persons who have been in close contact have been notified, and the notification letter has been sent, the case is reported here on the SUSD COVID-19 Dashboard.

Disclaimer: This data is for informational purposes only. This information is based on reports to the district from other sources which have not been independently verified. SUSD confers with Pima County Health Department to track COVID-19 cases and trace close contacts.

The data below reflects active cases only and will be updated as we receive notification that those positive cases have met the isolation and quarantine criteria and are safe to return to campus.
If an individual was not on campus during their infectious period and have not exposed anyone on campus, then the number is not reflected on the dashboard.
