Desert View HS Fine Arts Expansion

Desert View High School will soon see the completion of a new fine arts facility, which will provide an additional 4500 square feet of space for the campus located at 4101 E. Valencia Rd. 

The high school offers Marching Band, Jazz and, Drum-line, Orchestra, Mariachi, Guitar and Folklórico, and is home to Troop 4478, 2018 Arizona state threatre champions. Earlier this year the young thespians brought home 23 Superior National Qualifiers awards and 6 Excellent Rated Awards.

The construction project was awarded to the Mesa archiectural team at Emc2 Architects to provide additional space for the school's fine arts programs. With exceptionally strong performing arts programs from Gallego Primary and Gallego Intermediate feeders, Desert View can continue to be an performing destination for students in the District and incoming students from other districts and charters. The fine arts programs are part of the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, one of SUSD's six College and Career Academies. 

The expansion was funded by bond dollars and is expected to be completed by Labor Day 2018.
