Staffing and Sectioning


The new staffing & sectioning process has been designed to create staffing equity and efficiency among schools in the Sunnyside Unified School District. The process allocates staffing in the spring semester based upon enrollment projections and finalizes staffing in the fall semester using student seat counts and a formula-based allocation. Principals and central administrators will ensure position control accuracy and budget alignment. The outcome of the process is to achieve 100% alignment between the district’s position control, building-level staffing, Infinite Campus and the payroll systems.

Smart Goals
  • Establish a process for staffing SUSD schools which is formula-based, considers budget override expectations and ensures equity.
  • Establish a position control system which ensures staffing levels are tied to the budget process and payroll system.
