Least Restrictive Environment

Educating your child in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) means that your child will be educated with non-disabled peers to the maximum extent possible. This will be in the regular classroom at the child’s home school if it is possible for the child to be successful there. If the child will not be successful there, there are classes available in other schools where different types of services can be available. Every child should have some participation with non-disabled students at some point during the day if that is at all possible.
