In the spring of 2007, a reorganization of the Human Resources (HR) Department was presented to the Governing Board. The purpose of the reorganization is to assure quality customer service for district employees and new hires and to improve our overall organizational efficiency. A proven system for efficient workflow is for one HR and one Payroll representative to be assigned to a site(s) so that there are consistent points of contact. The HR Department aligned with Payroll, and the teams of two specialists each are now responsible for all employee actions at their assigned site(s), i.e., change of status, resignations, and new hire of all employees.

Smart Goals
  • The HR Department will exceed the 2006-07 recruitment and hiring of substitute teachers in the district by 20%.
  • By May 2008, the HR Department will ensure that 100% of all certified/administrative applications are online.
  • By May 31, 2008, the HR staff will return phone calls and respond to e-mails within one business day.
