Apollo Dress Code

Apollo Middle School encourages students to take pride in their attire as it relates to the school setting. Students should dress in a manner that in addition to the following guidelines, takes into consideration the educational environment, safety, health and welfare of self and others.

Uniforms are required to be worn by all students daily.  All uniforms are expected to be neat and clean.

Slacks, Shorts or Capri Pants: Must be cotton or khaki and appropriately sized to eliminate bagging or sagging. Must be worn at the natural waistline. Must be worn at the knee or longer. Solid colored slacks, short, or Capri Pants in: Khaki/tan or Black.

Shirts: Students may choose from the following: Polo style knit with collar (long sleeved, or short sleeved). Shirts must be buttoned to the neck. Solid colors permitted in:  Black, White or Apollo approved polo shirt.

Undershirts: Students will be allowed to wear a short sleeved undershirt underneath their uniform. Undershirts must remain tucked in the entire day. Undershirts are permitted in White or Black Only. (No long sleeve undershirts).

Outer Garments: Sweaters, sweatshirts or jackets, appropriately sized, without logos or insignia, in solid colors:  Black, Gray, White or Apollo approved sweatshirts may be worn in the classroom. A uniform shirt must be worn with sweater or sweatshirts.

The following are NOT permitted:

• If the shirt is too long, it must be tucked in. Too long means if you put your hands down by your side the shirt goes on beyond your finger tips.
• Stretch, tight or form fitting clothing. No jeans, denim or corduroy.
• No hats/caps or sunglass.
• No sleeveless tops or crop tops. Tops must cover midriff, back and shoulders. Shirts may not be tied in the back or front. No hooded clothing.
• You may not wear black top and bottom at the same time. 
• Sweaters, vests and sweatshirts MUST be solid black, white or gray.
• Ties or headbands may be worn without designs or embellishments.
• Any ornamental belts or buckles with initials may not be worn to school. All belts must be worn appropriately on uniform bottom.
• Excessive amounts or extreme styles of jewelry (multi-fingered rings, multiple bracelets, large earrings, piercings or necklaces/chains) will be addressed on an individual basis. Piercings in ears only. (Apollo will not be held responsible for damaged, stolen, or misplaced jewelry or personal property)
• Flip-flops, open-toe sandals, shower shoes, sandals without a back strap, slippers and shoes with cleats.

1. Shirts-Polo style, three button, short sleeved shirt with collars only.  These shirts may be solid White or Black or Green Eagle Pride shirts purchased at Apollo.

2. Undershirts-White crew style undershirts only

3. Bottoms-Khaki and black color only

4. Shorts-Bermuda style or capri style pants only

5. Shoes must be closed and solid black or white only

6. Socks worn with shorts must be solid black or white

7. Belts-no excessive length or inappropriate buckles

8. Friday- Higher Education Friday--In state University wear is encouraged

9. Backpacks- Solid black only.

Size must be appropriate-excessive pockets, zippers, chains, stripes etc, are inappropriate for a positive learning environment.  Clothing, jewelry or grooming that Apollo admistration determins interferes with safety or learning is prohibited.
