A special study session begins today, June 6, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. for a presentation by bond legal counsel to the Governing Board and for a presentation by Dr. Eileen Lento, government and education strategist for Intel. Dr. Lento is an expert in guiding school systems along the technology adoption curve.
Project Graduation: The Digital Advantage has been selected for inclusion in the American School Board Journal’s Magna Best Practices Database. It is one of only 114 highly-scored programs selected for this special recognition from 359 nominations. It will be in the database for five years; see www.asbj.com/magna.
On Friday, April 29, Congressman Raúl Grijalva stopped by Sunnyside District headquarters to observe and participate in the Snack Pack Program - one of the district’s McKinney-Vento programs, which serves homeless students. The Snack Pack Program is funded by a $15,000 donation from the Qwest Foundation and provides 200 backpacks filled with nonperishable food for the weekend.
